2009 Racing Results

It was one of those odd nights when the later you went out to qualify, the better time you got. It was a beauty of a day and their track prep was great, no dust and still tacky in the feature. The trusty crew headed by George Fisher came through with a Great Car and  Dale wheeled the Ti2 Maxim to a 3rd place finish from a 6 place start. Tomorrow's race will be a 50 lapper for $10,000 to win, anxious to hear the results.

Hats off to the promoter for putting on a great show for the fans with over 40 competitive 410's filling the pits

Dale: “Got to thank George Fisher and the guys. We blew up a motor on the second lap of qualifying and got that thing changed. The crew did a great job getting that done. We were in the first heat race, so they really had to bust it to get the car back out there… The track was good. There were a couple of lanes in three and four and there was a lane in one in two if you were really good. I got around some lapped traffic using that one. Randy put his nose inside me on that one restart with about ten laps to go, because I did not go into there as hard as I should have. Everything worked out good… It is awesome anytime you can take home $10,000 to win a race. It is the second year we won this thing and last year we won the championship here last year, so I really like this place.”

After a 24 hour delay we finally got the "A" Feature in. A top ten in the Knoxville Nationals is quite a accomplishment for a small team like ours. But everyone involved with the team's effort was for a "Victory". In the end, it was a good week a nice payday and we have even more confidence that we can compete with the top drivers in the world, about 140 of them !

It's a great accomplishment with the Nationals point set up to start up front ! And Dale and the crew are up to the challenge of being in row 2 for the main race. Its a tough race from anywhere in the field when you look at the strength of the cars in the field. Let's hope that by not having to battle the way to the front we will still have tires left for the end. We all have compete confidence in Dale's abilities, and would sure like to see the George Fisher, Ti-2 Maxim in "Victory Lane."

The words we always like to hear, especially at the biggest Race of the year. A early pill turned out to be a good thing as the track was fast right after hot laps. Dale's time was .2 faster then the field. Dale made the transfer by finishing 3rd in his heat. After finishing 8th in the feature it was time to add up the points toward Friday and Saturday. At this point Dale is in the top 10 in points and the Friday night scrambles will determine his starting spot in the Big "A" Saturday night.

George Fisher did a great job re-numbering the car to "10" and added a George Fisher Racing decal with a white stripe to give the car a  "Lou Blaney" retro look. The night started out badly as we had ignition problem that took a few different try's to diagnose and fix. Dale was able to win his heat race and get his time back for the Feature. A 7th place start was improved to a 4th place finish on a track that was very fast.

I picked the right night to attend speedweek, it was one of the most exciting and hard fought races I have seen in awhile. Dale started the evening by winning his heat and finishing 3rd in the dash. Then the fun began. Dale started 7th in the 40 lap main event. He found some speed down low and worked his way past several cars right away. The low groove started to go away and Dale worked the car high and low to get to the front. Twice he made contact with the wall trying to sling shot through the turn, but he lost little ground, the Maxim chassis and the Ti22 suspension parts came through. The battle for 2nd was hard fought and took several laps to get by. By that time with no yellow flags the leader had checked out. George gave Dale a fast car and and he made good use of it.

George made all the right choices in setting up the #2 Fisher Maxim. Dale took his fifth place starting spot and worked the high and low grove until he made it up to third. By that time the car set up kicked in and the #2 was the fasted car on the track. He did some hard racing with Jason Myers and finally got around him. A lapped car took out the leader Donny Schatz, and it was over. Dale took the lead and ran away with it.  Dale stated that "when we pull into a track with our small motor home and trailer and George Fisher working the wrenches, I am confident we can beat anyone."
